Synthetic bone putty tested as alternative to painful bone harvesting in foot surgeries

NCT ID NCT07225751

Summary

This study is testing whether a synthetic bone graft material works as well as a patient's own bone for fusing ankle and hindfoot joints. About 126 adults needing this type of surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either the synthetic material or a graft taken from their own body. Researchers will use CT scans and patient surveys over a year to see how well the bones heal and if pain and function improve.
