Hidden joint bleeds in hemophilia: new study aims to spot trouble early

NCT ID NCT06809972

First seen May 06, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026

Summary

This study looks at 46 men with severe hemophilia who have joint swelling that isn't causing obvious symptoms. Researchers want to find out if this swelling is active (likely to cause damage) or inactive using ultrasound, MRI, and physical exams. Participants will be monitored for up to 12 weeks while receiving standard care, including clotting factor therapy and optional anti-inflammatory medication. The goal is to improve early detection of joint problems to prevent long-term damage.
