Gut health pill tested as new weapon against diabetes
NCT ID NCT04552002
Summary
This study tested whether taking a daily synbiotic supplement—a mix of probiotics and prebiotics—for six months could help control blood sugar and reduce body inflammation in adults with prediabetes or type 2 diabetes. Researchers compared 64 participants who took the supplement to others who did not, measuring changes in blood sugar, body composition, and gut bacteria. The goal was to see if improving gut health could become a new way to help manage diabetes.
