Summary
This study looks at whether measuring a substance called IL-6 in the blood can help doctors quickly tell if a patient in the emergency room has sepsis or septic shock. About 450 adults who are being admitted to the hospital with a suspected infection will take part. The goal is to find a clear cutoff level of IL-6 that signals sepsis, which could lead to faster treatment and better outcomes.
