Can a prescription CBD drug outperform homemade versions for Kids' seizures?

NCT ID NCT06924827

Summary

This study aims to find the best way to switch children with severe epilepsy syndromes (Dravet or Lennox-Gastaut) from taking homemade, non-pharmaceutical cannabidiol (CBD) to the FDA-approved prescription drug Epidiolex. Researchers will enroll 25 children to see if a gradual switch works, if the same dose is effective, and what side effects occur during the change. Participants will slowly increase their Epidiolex dose while decreasing their homemade CBD over several weeks, with clinic visits to monitor their health and seizure activity.
