Swiss doctors test new rules to fight superbugs by cutting unneeded antibiotics
NCT ID NCT07396428
Summary
This study is testing whether giving Swiss family doctors new national guidelines can help them prescribe fewer unnecessary antibiotics for common respiratory infections like colds and flu. The guidelines encourage using a simple finger-prick test to check for bacterial infection and involving patients in treatment decisions. Researchers will track prescription rates from 200 doctors to see if the new approach works in real-world clinics.
