Researchers craft new tool to gauge Post-Surgery swallowing struggles

Summary
This study aims to create a reliable questionnaire to measure swallowing difficulties and throat discomfort in people with goiter or those who have had thyroid surgery. Researchers will interview patients to develop the questions, then give the questionnaire to 420 participants before and after their surgery to see how their symptoms change. The study will also look at the psychological impact of the condition and surgery, and how patients feel about their surgical scars.
