Swallowing study pulled before it began: leak treatment may not harm function
NCT ID NCT05945654
First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study was designed to see if people who had a leak after esophageal cancer surgery and were treated with a special suction therapy (endoscopic vacuum therapy) end up with the same swallowing ability as those who did not have a leak. The researchers planned to ask adults who had the surgery to fill out questionnaires about swallowing and quality of life. However, the study was withdrawn before enrolling any participants, so no results are available.
