Wrapped in comfort: new bathing method may soothe preterm infants

NCT ID NCT07522892

First seen Apr 15, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study compares swaddle bathing (wrapping the baby in a light cloth during the bath) to traditional tub bathing for preterm infants in the NICU. The goal is to see if swaddle bathing keeps the baby's temperature and heart rate more stable and reduces stress behaviors like crying. Forty preterm infants will be randomly assigned to one of the two bathing methods.
