Stitches vs. staples: which works better for healing surgery wounds?

This small pilot study is testing whether it's practical to compare two common methods for closing surgical wounds after bone fracture repair: traditional stitches (sutures) versus metal staples. Researchers want to see if they can successfully recruit patients and collect data to prepare for a larger future study that would examine which method leads to fewer infections. The study involves 50 adults with specific leg fractures who will be randomly assigned to have their surgical wound closed with either stitches or staples during their standard fracture repair surgery.
