New stitch could seal the deal after lung surgery

NCT ID NCT06924515

Summary

This study is testing if a special stitching technique between the ribs can prevent a rare complication where lung tissue bulges through the chest wall after minimally invasive lung surgery. Researchers will compare 104 patients who get the special stitch to those who get the standard stitch. The main goal is to see if the new stitch reduces this bulge and also helps control bleeding during the operation.
