Stitch battle: which method keeps surgery wounds closed?
NCT ID NCT07241507
Summary
This study compared two stitching techniques used to close the abdomen after exploratory surgery. Researchers wanted to see if interrupted stitches (separate knots) or continuous stitches (one long stitch) resulted in fewer wound openings (dehiscence) or infections. About 80 adult patients were randomly assigned to one of the two stitching methods and followed for four weeks after their surgery.
