New stitch vs. old stitch: which better prevents hernias after cancer surgery?

NCT ID NCT07218679

Summary

This study compares two types of surgical stitches used to close large abdominal incisions after cancer surgery. It aims to see if a newer, barbed stitch (Stratafix) is better than a standard stitch at preventing a painful complication called an incisional hernia. The trial involves 140 adult patients undergoing major abdominal surgery for cancer.
