New lung drug faces off against standard treatment in major trial
NCT ID NCT07284602
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a new drug, LYT-100, against an existing one (pirfenidone) for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a lung disease that gets worse over time. About 1,100 adults will take either drug three times daily for up to a year, and researchers will measure how well their lungs function. The goal is to see if LYT-100 slows lung decline better than the current treatment.
