First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tested a special collagen mesh placed inside the abdomen during cancer surgery to see if it could prevent common complications like bowel blockages, infections, and fistulas. Sixty adults with cancers spreading to the abdominal lining took part. The mesh acted as a temporary substitute for the removed lining, aiming to help patients recover more smoothly.
