Scientists test best way to scrub germs off skin before surgery
NCT ID NCT00799812
Summary
This study tested different ways to clean skin before surgery to see which method best reduces germs. Researchers compared two application techniques for ChloraPrep swabs, a liquid antibacterial soap (Hibiclens), and sterile water swabs on the abdomen and groin of 335 healthy volunteers. The goal was to measure how many germs remained on the skin after each cleaning method to find the most effective approach for preventing infections.
