New surgical wipe tested to fight germs before the knife
NCT ID NCT03140254
Summary
This study tested a new antiseptic cloth containing octenidine to see if it was as safe and effective as a standard cloth containing chlorhexidine for cleaning skin before surgery. The goal was to prevent surgical site infections by reducing bacteria on the skin. In this small, blinded pilot study, 145 healthy adult volunteers had their skin treated and tested to measure how well each cloth killed germs.
