Glowing dye could prevent dangerous bile duct injuries in emergency surgery
NCT ID NCT07481760
Summary
This study is testing whether a special fluorescent dye helps surgeons see bile ducts more clearly during emergency gallbladder removal surgery. About 300 adults with acute gallbladder inflammation will have surgery either with or without the dye guidance. The goal is to see if using the dye reduces serious complications like bile leaks or bile duct injuries in the 90 days after surgery.
