Major trial aims to settle debate: to operate or not for broken backs?

NCT ID NCT05003180

Summary

This study aims to find out whether surgery or non-surgical care is better for people with a specific type of spinal fracture. It will enroll 202 adults and randomly assign them to receive either an operation or non-surgical treatment like bracing. Researchers will then track their pain, function, and quality of life for up to 10 years to see which approach leads to the best long-term recovery.
