New study aims to solve mystery of lingering pain after common hand surgery

NCT ID NCT07484100

Summary

This study will compare surgery to non-surgical treatments for people who have persistent nerve pain in their arm and hand, often after a previous carpal tunnel surgery. Researchers want to find out if a second surgery to release a nerve higher up in the arm is more effective than conservative care like therapy or medication. The main goal is to see which approach leads to better patient-reported symptom improvement after six months.
