Summary
This study aimed to measure how environmentally friendly and cost-effective a common surgery (laparoscopic appendectomy) is. Researchers observed 63 patients in Chile to calculate the surgery's carbon emissions, costs, and health benefits. The goal was to identify ways to perform this life-saving procedure with less environmental impact.
