Can a Surgery's carbon footprint change a Patient's mind?

NCT ID NCT07505238

Summary

This study aims to understand if providing patients with information about the environmental impact of surgery influences their real-life treatment decisions. Researchers will give 400 patients with gallstones a decision aid; some will include details on the carbon footprint of surgery versus a 'wait-and-see' approach. The goal is to see if this information helps patients choose more sustainable care when medical outcomes are similar.
