Radical new combo: cut out tumor, then hit it with drugs

NCT ID NCT07177105

Summary

This study is testing if surgically removing the main lung tumor before starting a combination of immunotherapy and chemotherapy leads to better outcomes for people with advanced lung cancer. About 118 patients will be randomly assigned to either have surgery first or just receive the drug treatment. Researchers will compare how long patients live without their cancer getting worse, overall survival, and quality of life to see if adding surgery provides a significant benefit.
