Glowing dye aims to prevent hidden surgical injury

This study is testing an injection called IS-001 to see if it helps surgeons better see the ureter (the tube from the kidney to the bladder) during robotic colorectal surgery. The goal is to prevent accidental damage to this delicate structure, which is a serious but often hidden complication. About 146 patients scheduled for this type of surgery will receive the injection so researchers can measure how clearly it makes the ureter show up on the surgical imaging system.
