Surgeons test two ways to fix a hernia and stop severe heartburn

NCT ID NCT07387042

Summary

This study aims to compare two different laparoscopic surgical techniques for repairing a congenital hiatal hernia, a condition that causes severe acid reflux. Forty young patients under 18 years old, whose symptoms are not controlled by medication, will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two surgeries. Researchers will also closely examine how using a camera (endoscopy) before, during, and after surgery helps with diagnosis, guides the repair, and checks the results.
