Cancer surgery may also fight diabetes
NCT ID NCT07437573
Summary
This study tested if a specific type of stomach reconstruction surgery, performed on patients with both early-stage gastric cancer and type 2 diabetes, could improve their blood sugar control. Researchers compared a new, longer bypass technique to the standard method to see which was better at helping patients manage their diabetes one year after their cancer surgery. The goal was to see if the surgical approach for cancer could also provide a metabolic benefit.
