New study tests Surgery-First method for jaw correction
NCT ID NCT07433842
First seen Feb 26, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study looks at a new way to treat a jaw problem called skeletal Class III malocclusion (where the lower jaw sticks out). Instead of braces first, the Surgery-First approach does jaw surgery right away, then braces later. Researchers will check how the bones and face change after surgery using CT scans and 3D dental models. The study includes 60 patients and aims to see if this method is stable and effective over one year.
