Glowing dye aims to prevent dangerous surgical mistakes

Summary
This study is testing if a special fluorescent dye can help surgeons see bile ducts more clearly during emergency gallbladder removal surgery. About 300 patients with an inflamed gallbladder will be randomly assigned to have surgery with or without the dye. The goal is to see if using the dye reduces serious complications like bile leaks or damage to the bile duct.
