First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests a new method of placing plastic stents in the bile duct to relieve jaundice caused by cancer near the liver. About 70 patients will be randomly assigned to either the standard method or a new technique that avoids cutting the bile duct muscle. The goal is to see which approach keeps the stent working longer and causes fewer side effects.
