Summary

This study looked at whether giving patients extra oxygen during and after surgery could reduce surgical site infections in people with severe leg fractures. Over 1,100 adults with high-energy tibia or ankle fractures were randomly assigned to receive either supplemental oxygen or standard care. The main goal was to compare infection rates within 6 months after surgery.
