Simple bed tilt may ease dangerous high blood pressure when lying down

NCT ID NCT04502225

First seen Nov 06, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looks at whether raising the head of the bed can help lower high blood pressure that occurs when lying down (supine hypertension) in people with autonomic failure. By using gravity to reduce blood flow returning to the heart, researchers hope to find a non-drug way to manage this condition. The study will enroll 44 adults aged 18-85 with autonomic failure and supine hypertension.
