Flexible cable aims to heal broken chest bones faster after surgery

NCT ID NCT07251881

Summary

This study is testing if a new flexible cable (SuperCable) is better than traditional steel wires for closing the breastbone after heart bypass surgery. Researchers want to see if the cable helps the bone heal faster, reduces pain after surgery, shortens hospital stays, and improves recovery. Eighty-six patients will be randomly assigned to have their chest closed with either the cable or steel wires and followed for six months.
