First seen Feb 15, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looks at a new way to replace the shoulder joint that avoids cutting a major muscle called the subscapularis. The goal is to see if this muscle-sparing approach leads to better pain relief, movement, and strength for people with shoulder arthritis. About 50 adults having this surgery at the University of Utah will be followed to track their recovery and outcomes.
