New drug aims to ease stuttering without harsh side effects

NCT ID NCT05583955

Summary

This study tested an experimental drug called NOE-105 to see if it could improve speech fluency in adult men with persistent stuttering that began in childhood. For 10 weeks, 75 participants received either the drug or a placebo to compare effectiveness and safety. The main goal was to see if the drug could reduce stuttering severity and improve daily functioning compared to a dummy pill.
