Scientists hunt for the genetic secrets of periods

NCT ID NCT04085835

Summary

This study aimed to understand why humans menstruate by comparing our genes to other primates. Researchers collected menstrual fluid from 21 healthy women to analyze which genes are active during a period. The goal was to learn about the evolution of menstruation, not to provide a treatment.
