Last-Minute surgery cancellations cost hospitals and stress patients, study finds
NCT ID NCT07357753
Summary
This study looked at why planned, non-emergency surgeries were cancelled on the very day they were supposed to happen. Researchers tracked over 400 cancelled surgeries to understand the reasons behind the cancellations, measure how stressed patients felt, and calculate the financial cost to the hospital. The goal was to gather information that could help hospitals plan better and avoid unnecessary last-minute cancellations in the future.
