Scientists hunt for clues to Post-Viral fatigue in young people
NCT ID NCT07394855
Summary
This study aims to understand why some adolescents and young adults develop persistent fatigue after getting mononucleosis (caused by Epstein-Barr virus). Researchers will follow 150 people who recently had mono and 150 healthy people for six months, measuring brain activity, immune system function, and nervous system responses. The goal is to learn how the brain and body interact to cause lasting fatigue, which could help future treatments.
