This study looked at patients leaving the hospital with a chest tube and valve for a prolonged air leak. Half received antibiotics and twice-weekly phone check-ins; the other half got standard care. The goal was to see if extra monitoring and antibiotics could reduce infections and hospital readmissions within 30 days.
