Scientists probe blood cells for clues to tame rare disease
NCT ID NCT01862068
Summary
This study aimed to understand how a specific type of white blood cell, called a neutrophil, behaves in people with granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA), a rare autoimmune disease. Researchers studied blood samples from 93 patients to see if changes in these cells could serve as markers to help doctors better monitor the disease. The goal was to gather knowledge that could lead to improved tracking of disease activity and, eventually, more targeted treatments.
