NCT ID NCT07430709
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study will test a small, handheld device called the Spirometry Test System (STS) to see if it can accurately measure lung function in children aged 7 to 17. About 160 kids who need lung tests will use both the handheld device and standard lab equipment. The goal is to see if the STS device gives similar results and is safe to use.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Spirometry Test System (STS) handheld device
What this could lead to
If successful, this device could offer a simpler, portable way to measure lung function in children, reducing the need for bulky lab equipment.
What could go wrong
This is an early validation study, not a treatment trial. The device may not match the accuracy of standard tests, and results may not apply to all children.
