Race against time: new stroke drug challenge aims to improve recovery

Summary

This study is comparing two different blood clot medications (tirofiban and alteplase) given through an IV before a standard procedure to remove a major blockage in the brain. The goal is to see which drug is safer and more effective at helping stroke patients regain independence. Researchers will enroll 800 adults who have just had a major stroke caused by a large blocked artery.
