New hope for severe stroke patients with weakened immune systems

NCT ID NCT07202143

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a steroid medication (methylprednisolone) to the standard blood clot removal procedure helps people who have severe strokes with large brain damage and low immune cell counts. Researchers want to see if this combination treatment is at least as good as the standard procedure alone for helping patients survive and recover function 90 days after their stroke. The trial will enroll 200 adults across multiple hospitals who meet specific criteria for severe stroke.
