First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looked at whether giving a clot-busting drug called tenecteplase before a procedure to remove a clot (endovascular thrombectomy) helps people recover better from a severe stroke caused by a blockage in the basilar artery. The trial included 330 adults treated between 4.5 and 24 hours after their stroke. The main goal was to see if more people could live independently (with little or no disability) 90 days later.
