First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tested whether giving a clot-busting drug (tenecteplase) before a procedure to remove a blood clot (endovascular thrombectomy) helps people recover better from a severe type of stroke caused by a blockage in the basilar artery. The trial included 330 adults who were treated between 4.5 and 24 hours after their stroke started. The main goal was to see if more people could live independently (with little or no disability) 90 days later.
