New rehab combo aims to help stroke survivors walk stronger, fear falls less
NCT ID NCT07138118
Summary
This study tested a 5-week physical therapy program for people recovering from a recent stroke. It combined two approaches: light exercise with a special cuff to boost muscle strength, and walking while doing mental tasks to improve balance. Researchers wanted to see if this combination was better than the mental-task training alone at improving leg strength, walking ability, and confidence to prevent falls.
