New drug aims to help stroke victims walk and talk again

Summary
This study is testing if an investigational drug called sovateltide can help the brain heal and improve recovery after a stroke. It will be given by IV along with standard stroke care to 160 adults who have recently had an ischemic stroke. Researchers will compare the recovery of those who get the drug to those who get a placebo, looking at improvements in movement, independence, and quality of life.
