New hope to stop repeat strokes: safer drug trial launches

NCT ID NCT07180472

Summary

This study compares three blood-thinning medications to see which works best at preventing repeat strokes in people with cerebral small vessel disease. Researchers will randomly assign 632 participants who recently had a small stroke to take either cilostazol, aspirin, or clopidogrel. They'll track whether patients have another stroke, if their thinking abilities decline, and monitor safety over time to find the most effective treatment with the fewest side effects.
