Scientists probe mystery of 'Fever Strokes' in rare disease

NCT ID NCT03250728

Summary

This small study aimed to understand why patients with a rare genetic condition called Congenital Disorders of Glycosylation (CDG) sometimes have stroke-like episodes, especially during fevers. Researchers studied blood vessel cells from six patients to see how heat stress affects a protective system in these cells. The goal was to gather basic knowledge about the cause of these episodes, not to test a treatment.
