New study tests best way to unlock stiff hands after stroke

NCT ID NCT07378774

Summary

This study is comparing two different physical therapy approaches to see which works better for improving hand and wrist function in people with long-term effects from a stroke. About 94 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy or Bilateral Training, both combined with gentle electrical muscle stimulation, three times a week for eight weeks. The goal is to find out which method is more effective at reducing wrist stiffness and improving the ability to use the hand for daily activities.
