Ancient remedy tested to awaken stroke patients

NCT ID NCT07240467

Summary

This study is testing whether a traditional medicine called Bovis Calculus Stativus (BCS) can help improve consciousness and recovery in people who have just had a severe stroke and are not fully alert. Researchers will compare BCS against a placebo (dummy pill) in 220 patients to see if it helps them become more alert and improves their overall recovery over 90 days. The main goal is to see if this medicine is safe and if it helps patients regain consciousness better than standard treatment alone.
